Brief & Approach

To create a logotype using their existing logo as the starting point and inspiration.

 I wanted to be very thorough and create multiple versions of each letter, allowing myself and the design team to filter through and produce something very bespoke.

In addition to the above, I wanted to have some physical pieces too as the company was very present on social media and often sent/received gift baskets.

Art Direction & Outcome

The final outcome was a fully working 3D bespoke logo typeface, alongside a 2D monochrome set of numbers and glyphs.

In addition to the digital type, and the printed booklet, I used various media and materials to create the following;

- Vinyl stickers; allowing the company to personalise any PR packages

- Acetate poster; to be applied to a window allowing the colours to fall into the office when the sun shines through

- Paper framed poster; to display in the office

- Repeated pattern on trace paper; either for PR packages or to use as a backdrop

Final University Exhibition

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Marvellous and loved creating their logo type. It propelled me into looking more closely at type for some other projects. Ultimately, I wanted to push this hand-crafted logotype project further for my Final Major Exhibition. (See above).

To do this I broke apart the key and 4 brand colours and created an anamorphic installation using perspex.

0.75in Perspex

Screen printed outlines in black

40cm x 1cm Perspex rods

Pink/blue/green paint (mixed to the correct pantones)
